The exchange of documents shows that Zomato has obtained approval from its shareholders to rename itself to Eternal. The change has been made to the corporate entity and will now include food delivery platform Zomato, fast business business Blinkit, a new app called District, a pre-order experience and its B2B kitchen supplies platform, Hyperpure.

A few weeks ago, CEO Deepinder Goyal announced a new AI-powered customer support platform called Nugget.

The company said shareholders approved the report in detail after the postal vote.

The company’s board of directors approved the name change on February 6, and is about to apply for regulatory approval, indicating it is ready to go beyond fast delivery.

Goyal explained in a letter to shareholders: “When we got Blinkit, we started using “eternal” (rather than Zomato) to distinguish companies and brands/apps. We also think that we will publicly name the company Eternal, which is a big driver for our future for the day outside Zomato. Today, with Blinkit, I feel like we are there. We want to rename the company (not brands/apps) to Zomato Ltd. of Eternal Ltd..”
