Elon Musk’s social media platform X experienced a massive power outage on Monday, leaving thousands of users unable to access the United States, the United Kingdom and the rest of the world.
The U.S. interruption reports soared to more than 40,000 after initial declines earlier in the day, according to Downdetector.com, a power outage tracking site. In the UK, more than 10,800 users also encountered problems and had problems in the early morning.
The exact cause of the power outage is unclear and X has not provided an official statement about the interruption. The company has not responded yet.
This is not the first instance of a platform interruption interrupt since Musk owns ownership. The power outage that occurred several hours ago at night has also sparked criticism and concerns about the stability of the site.
Users enter other social media platforms to express their frustration, many sharing memes and guessing potential technical glitches. Some suggest that continuous changes within X infrastructure can lead to frequent problems.
As of now, services seem to be gradually recovering, but the extent of the impact of the interruption remains to be fully evaluated.
One user @heyitspixel humorously pointed out: “X is a drop. Post it on X so people know that X is a drop.”
Another user tagged Elon Musk and said, “๐’s down! Who else thinks they’re suspended? ๐ @elonmusk, what happened to my friend? Did anyone trip over the server cable and unplug it?”
“๐ For many users, it just fell down for about 20 minutes. It seems that the problem may have been resolved,” another user wrote.
The user of @fearedbuck controller wrote: “Twitter/X stopped for nearly an hour this morning.
