The luxury car market has grown enormously in India. Many luxury car manufacturers have improved the country’s portfolio, the latest being Volvo and Audi. Although the Audi Q7 updated its Swedish-branded flagship SUV last year, the Volvo XC90 has recently been updated.

Both Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90 have been on the Indian market for a long time and have been popular among the audience here. While new updates to both SUVs have not brought significant updates, both SUVs have been updated with the latest technology and features. This is how two rows of flagship SUVs compare with each other.

Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90: Design

The 2025 Volvo XC90 features a redesigned front grille and has subtle modifications to its LED DRL and retains the “Thor’s Hammer” look. The front bumper has been modified with larger vents, while the front LED taillights are now all fresh.

Volvo also introduced a new mulberry red paint option that brings the total number of color choices to six. The SUV offers a standard ground clearance of 238mm, which can be increased to 267mm in an optional air suspension. It has a length of 4,953 mm, a width of 2,140 mm (including mirrors), and a wheelbase of 2,984 mm. The seven-seat layout provides ample passenger space.

With the update, the 2024 Audi Q7 has also been redesigned as it pleases, including key exterior changes, including a satin silver finish in the new octagonal front grille, making the grille look even more favorable. The sides of the grille are split-effect headlights with matrix HD LED technology. The LED DRL has been repositioned to give it a modern look. The front and rear bumpers are also remodeled in style. The Q7 has 19-inch alloys on entry-level models and offers up to 22-inch alloys for top-spec models.

Other elements are also provided, such as aluminum roof rails, contrast stitching, and a rearview camera with park aids. The new Q7 will be available in three new shades, including Ascari Blue, Sakhir Gold and Chili Red to expand buyer customization options. The length of the Audi Q7 is 5064mm, the width is 1970mm, and the height is 1703mm. Generally, wider bodywork provides better shoulder space inside the car, while taller roofs can be easier to get in and out of the vehicle. The 2025 Audi Q7 rides on a 2999mm wheelbase.

Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90: Features

The updated Volvo XC90 has an updated cabin while retaining the same basic layout. The XC90 gets a new 11.2-inch vertically stacked infotainment display to replace the first 9-inch unit. The cabin features materials such as gold headlines, grey grey trim, shifting of crystal gears, and ventilated Napa leather interiors. Volvo also added frequency selective damping technology to improve riding comfort, as well as better insulation and additional storage options.

Just like Volvo, Audi’s cabin has undergone slight changes. While the cabin layout is still familiar, several upgrades have not yet made the cabin look fresh. Start with an infotainment system that now supports third-party apps such as Amazon Music and Spotify. The system is equipped with a 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system, which allows passengers to have an immersive audio experience. Also included are adjustable front seats, electronically folded third-row seats and a powered tailgate with kick sensors as part of the full bundle.

Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90: Specifications

The XC90 now uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder mild hybrid engine using “Miller Cycle” technology. The B5 powertrain produces peak torque of 246.5 bhp and 360 nm and is equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The all-wheel drive system is powered by a 48-volt motor designed to improve fuel efficiency and smoother operation.

Under the hood, the Q7 facelift has a powerful drivetrain. The engine is a 3-liter V6, turbocharged, which produces 335 bhp and 500 nm of torque. Apart from that, the Q7 also has a gentle hybrid system. The 48-volt system helps improve fuel efficiency digitally and smooth performance. The Q7 further obtains an all-wheel drive system transmitted through an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90: Price

Volvo 10,300 million. The XC90 is only available in a single trim option -B5 Ultra. Meanwhile, the Audi Q7 is available on three trim levels: 8.87 million, go Rs 97.85 lakh, the highest technical decoration level. All prices are in front showrooms.
