Vishva Hindu Parishad on Thursday (December 19, 2024) said that over 350 MPs from all political parties were contacted under its annual Saansad Sampark Abhiyan (MPs Outreach Programme) during the winter session of Parliament and discussed the liberation of temples, etc. Questions and the Waqf Amendment, etc.
VHP general secretary Bajrang Lal Bagra said that every year during the winter session of Parliament, the VHP contacts the MPs to discuss important issues. VHP members from different states attempted to contact their respective state legislators during the planning period.
“This year’s program is organized during the winter session of Parliament from December 2 to 20. In the first phase from December 2 to 6, representatives from states including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka A total of 114 Lok Sabha and Lok Sabha MPs were contacted by volunteers from , Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, West Bengal and Maharashtra states.
In the second phase from December 9 to 13, people from Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Jammu Kashmir A total of 139 parliamentarians from these states were contacted by VHP volunteers.
The third and final phase of the campaign began on December 16, during which we contacted Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, Meghala Members of Parliament from Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Manipur and Nagaland.
He said VHP members during their meeting with the MPs stressed that all Hindu temples under the control of the government should be handed over to the Hindu society. The VHP also urged the MPs to support the Waqf Amendment, which is similar to Articles 29 and 30 of the Constitution, allowing minorities to run their religious educational institutions and the Hindu society should not be deprived of this right.
