Giani Harpreet Singh was eliminated as Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib on February 10 last year. On February 13, Giani Raghbir Singh condemned the firing.
Akal Takht told Shiromani Akali dal leader Sukhbir Singh Badal and other leaders on December 2 that the party and its government made a “mistake” in Punjab from 2007 to 2017. Akal Takht also announced a seven-member committee to oversee new members of the party.
Shiromani Akali Dal Mla Mla Manpreet Singh Ayali decided to remove the two Jathedars “very unfortunate and painful”.
