Amroha: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in a Ferset program in the Amroha region on Sunday to commemorate the implementation of the unified Civil Code (UCC) in the state and attributed its achievements to the Devbhoomi people, calling it a celebration of the nature of the constitutional body.

CM Dhami said of the incident: “This honor is not only mine, but also belongs to the people of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. The 122,50 million people of the country affirmed our resolution in the 2022 Uttarakhand parliamentary elections, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami described the implementation of the Unified Civil Code (UCC) as a tribute to the nature of the Indian Constitution.
He said that introducing the UCC respects the vision of constitution makers who envision a harmonious society by incorporating the idea of ​​a unified civil code.
Reflecting on the 2022 Uttarakhand parliamentary elections, he pointed out that the people of the country have elected the BJP government for the second time in a row, opposing traditional political trends.

Dhami highlighted India’s progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who stressed that the country is expected to reach its development status by 2047. He asserted that once India reaches this milestone, every citizen will have equal rights – an initiative that has begun to implement UCC at UCC. He praised Prime Minister Modi for his guidance in bringing the UCC to the state and pointed out that the law fulfilled the wishes of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar.

The Chief Minister described the UCC as a constitutional step to eliminate legal differences based on caste, religion and gender. He stressed that the law ensured equal rights for all citizens of Uttarakhand and marked a significant advance in women’s empowerment. He noted that Muslim women in the state have now escaped customs such as Harala, polygamy, child marriage and triple talaq. Furthermore, he assured that women in Uttarakhand will no longer face discrimination in terms of inheritance and property rights.

Dhami asserted that the UCC will simplify the judicial process to make it more efficient and accessible. He described the law as a protective shield that protects the rights of millions of women. He also mentioned that several Muslim women expressed their gratitude after the UCC implementation. In addressing the concerns, he clarified that the law does not target any particular religion or denomination, but rather attempts to promote social harmony by eliminating outdated practices.

He assured that legislation will not affect the basic beliefs and traditions of any beliefs. Furthermore, he noted that many developed countries, including several major Muslim countries, have adopted similar laws.

The chief minister said the implementation of UCC in Uttarakhand will set a precedent for other parts of the country. He mapped parallel to the sacred Ganga River, which is Uttarakhand and nourishes the entire country, and he said the flow of reforms initiated by the UCC will inspire other countries to take similar measures.
