U.S. President Donald Trump said on Sunday that his administration has linked to four different groups about the sale of China-owned social media platform Tiktok, and all options are good.
Tiktok’s fate has been airing since a law requiring its owner to sell on national security grounds or face an injunction. After taking office on January 20, Trump signed an executive order requiring a 75-day delay in enforcement of the law.
When asked if it would soon reach a deal for Tiktok, Trump told reporters No. 1, “Yes.”
He added: “We are dealing with four different groups and a lot of people want it… all four are good.”
Tiktok and Bytedance did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment outside of normal working hours.
Tiktok’s turmoil has attracted several potential buyers, including former Los Angeles Dodgers boss Frank McCourt, who expressed interest in fast-growing business analyst estimates, worth up to $50 billion.
