Kerala High Court Advocates Association on Monday decided with the Chief Justice of India (CJI) to seek the transfer of justice from the High Court.
The association accused the High Court judge of insulting the defense lawyer who had recently lost her husband in an open court last week, a decision that was unprecedented when the association accused the High Court judge last week. The lawyer then boycotted Judge Badalon Court.
Last week, the association petitioned Nitin Jamdar, Chief Justice of Kerala High Court, saying they had received complaints from several members about the alleged misconduct of the judge in court.
The association said to the complaints from the Chief Justice of HC: “We caught the attention of your nobles: this bar did not respond in an overwhelming way before this, and the reason for this overwhelming response was the establishment of a repressive frustration over a period of time.”
On Monday, the association’s overall decision wrote to CJI, seeking a transfer from Justice Badharudeen.
The association secretary, Mr Nandakumar, said the lawyers had decided not to continue boycotting the Badharudeen court. Meanwhile, the association requested that the High Court’s lawsuit be recorded in video. The secretary said that if this is not implemented, the lawyer will stay away from litigation in the future.
The association said in a letter to the Chief Justice of HC that the Kerala High Court was the first to have an electronic application and a virtual court: “But for strange reasons, we did not accept transparency. The High Court has evaded video recordings of the lawsuit to ensure transparency and check for misconduct in bars or benches.”

On Saturday, Justice Bad Harune apologized to Saritha Thomas, who allegedly insulted the HC chief justice, senior judge Muhamed Mustaque and senior defense attorney George Poonthottam.
However, the association requested an apology in the open court because the alleged insult was conducted in the open court.
The association suspended membership of Poonthottam on Monday and protested strongly against resolving the matter behind the lockdown.
