Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Friday (December 20, 2024) claimed that although the Dravida Party (DMK) had set a target of winning 200 seats in the 2026 Assembly elections, he later realized The party will certainly continue to win more seats.
When asked by reporters in Coimbatore whether the Erode East Assembly seat, which fell vacant after the death of EVKS Elangovan, would be won by the DMK in the upcoming by-elections, he said the DMK is part of the India Group and The Alliance will undoubtedly win the seat. Asked whether the seat would be allotted to the Congress, he said a decision would be taken only after consultation with the party.
Referring to the row over BR Ambedkar in Parliament, he said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will face legal proceedings against him. Regarding Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks, Mr. Stalin said the agitation was being planned in consultation with other leaders of the Indian bloc.
Responding to a query about “One Nation, One Election,” Stalin said the legislation would bury democratic values, defining it as a “disgusting and tragic bill.”
He also condoled the death of former Coimbatore MP Ella. Mohan.
