Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) executive officer (EO) J Syamala Rao on Sunday said it aims to make Tirumala an exemplary center of pilgrimage through its Vision Mission 2047.
Addressing the media at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala, the Chief Executive said, “Swarna Andhra Vision 2047,” TTD invited proposals for “Tirumala Vision 2047”, a strategic initiative focusing on planned development, environmental management and heritage conservation in Tirumala.
The EO explained that the 2019 zoning plan under the Tirumala Urban Development Authority (TUDA) master plan is based on 2017 data and no longer meets the current requirements. Vision 2047 aims to revise the program to suit current and future needs, he said, inviting renowned institutions to develop transformative proposals for around 18 projects.
New measures include new footpaths, smart parking, link roads, metro, redevelopment of areas like Rambagicha and Balaji bus stations, and strengthening of Alipiri’s base camp.
“We have achieved the 10 per cent target and are committed to further improvements,” the chief executive said, stressing the need for urban design guidelines to ensure that buildings reflect Tirumala’s spiritual and aesthetic values.
Technology and Automation
To improve accommodation, darshan services and transparency, TTD plans to replace manual operations with automation. The Chief Executive also revealed plans to introduce artificial intelligence chatbots to enhance pilgrim services.
“The ultimate goal is to preserve the spiritual essence of Tirumala while leveraging technology to enrich the pilgrimage experience for future generations,” the chief executive said.
