Threads is rolling out a new feature that will allow users to reshare photos and videos without including the original post. The platform announced that users will be able to add their own text to retweeted media while thanking the creator.

Sharing the update on Threads, Instagram head Adam Mosseri said it’s “an easy way to add your creativity to trending images and clips without having to post a quote.”

Users only need to long press the media or click the forward button and select “Use Media”. They can then add their own text and share the post.

This feature will also reduce user complaints about content being republished without attribution. The original creator is notified when their post is retweeted and can even turn off retweeting from their settings.

Threads has recently introduced a number of new features, such as additional filters for date ranges and profiles, and a presence indicator that shows when users are online.
