The man strangled his wife to death in front of his underage child and later killed himself

A 40-year-old man allegedly strangled his 32-year-old wife to death before ending his life in front of his six-year-old son at the house in Byadarahalli on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as factory employee Suresh V. and his wife Mamata G (costume worker). Police officials said the couple had two sons.

“The couple’s six-year-old was at home at the time of the incident, while the 13-year-old went with their grandparents,” officials added.

Byadarahalli police have registered for murder and suicide.

According to police, the six-year-old boy called his grandmother, Rookmini and told her that Mamata didn’t speak and asked her to come quickly. Rukmini, who was also the complainant, lived near the deceased’s house and soon arrived at the child near the window.

Then she opened the door to the house with the keys and entered inside, and found Mamata in a room in Diwan. In another room where the locked room, they found Suresh dead. Police suspect Suresh first strangled Mamata with a sheet or pillow, and then killed himself.

The survey shows that the two have been married for 14 years and have lived in the house for two months. They used to live in Bhadravathi, Shivamogga, with Suresh’s parents.

Rukmini claims Suresh is currently unemployed, has no rent or care for the family and is often fighting with Mamata.
