The Chinese Ministry of Defense said on Thursday (February 27, 2025) that Indian and Chinese troops are implementing the resolution in a “full and effective way” to end the standoff in eastern Ladakh.

“At present, Chinese and Indian troops are implementing resolutions related to border areas in a compressed and effective way,” answered questions about normalization of the situation in the eastern Ladakh sector.

“We are ready to work with India to jointly preserve peace and tranquility in the border areas,” he said.

India and China completed the disengagement process late last year, which had ended the four-year ties at the evacuation of Depsang and Demchok’s troops, the last two friction points in eastern Ladakh.

After the agreement was terminated, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks in Kazan, Russia on October 23. At the meeting, the two sides decided to resume various dialogue mechanisms.

Afterwards, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held the 23rd Special Representative (SR) dialogue in Beijing on December 18 last year.

On January 26, Foreign Minister Vikram Misri went to the Chinese capital and held talks with his Chinese rival Sun Weidong under the framework of the “Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs” mechanism.

After a series of negotiations, both countries are normalizing bilateral relations.

India insists that unless there is peace in the border area, ties with China cannot be normal.
