“That’s not good”: Australian couple sit next to a long flight next to the body | Air transport

An Australian couple criticized Qatar Airways after sitting on a blanket body next to them during a long flight.

Mitchell Ring said a passenger died in a 14-hour flight from Melbourne to Doha last week.

“They tried to bring her to business class, but she was a big lady and they couldn’t get her through the aisle,” he told Nine News this week.

“They looked a little frustrated, and then they just looked at me and saw a seat next to me.”

Lin said he was forced to wait beside the body even after the plane landed.

“The ambulance crew and the police came in and the ambulance crew started pulling the blanket out of the lady,” he said.

“This is not good.”

Ringer and his wife, Jennifer Colin, sat next to the body, heading for Venice.

“I’m not a great flyer at the best of times. There has to be a deal to take care of the customers on board,” Colin said.

Lin said he sat with his body for about four hours despite other seats.

“They said, ‘You can move over’, and I just said, ‘Is it a problem’. Then they put that lady on the chair I was in. There were a few spare seats around.”

Qatar Airways apologized in a statement to Australian media: “This may be caused by any inconvenience or distress of this incident.”

“First of all, our idea is to be with the passengers’ families who have passed away sadly on our flight.”
