Tata Sierra design patent filed in India

The Sierra SUV is one of the most anticipated debuts of Tata Motors. Tests were recently conducted on Indian highways after debuting in near-production at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Tata Motors has patented the design for New Sierra, a 22-year-old nameplate that is restored in the form of a five-door model.

The design patent image closely reflects the models presented at the AutoExpo and the newly discovered test ms. While the new Serra retains the loose stance of its predecessor, its appearance has undergone significant changes. The version displayed at the fair features a striking black panel that includes a full-width LED DRL strap. Integrated air intakes on the side grille of the slender headlights. The front panel also features a large amount of air dam and a solid skid plate located at the bottom of the bumper.

The Sierra silhouette is stylish and elegant with a little shoulder line. Nearly produced variants include glossy black cladding around the wheel arches and the lower half of the door. The rear of the SUV combines interlock light strips across the tailgate.

In terms of technology, the cabin is fully equipped. It will be equipped with a large touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Carplay compatibility, a ventilated seat, a sunroof and a Level 2 ADA.

Tata Electric has shown that the Sierra will be used with next-generation powertrains in all-electric and internal combustion engine (ICE) configurations. Although the exact specifications are not yet known, the SUV is expected to include the Tata’s new 1.5-liter Hyperion Turbo-Petrol engine, and feature a diesel variant.
