A man was arrested after he was shot and killed in Talbot Green, about 15 miles west of Cardiff.
South Wales police said the woman was found injured in the Green Park area of Wales town after 6pm on Sunday and could not be kept by emergency services.
Police said a 42-year-old man from Talbot Green was detained. The area has set up several crime scenes in the area by investigating police and road closures.
“I know this will cause concerns in the local community, and I want to assure people that a team of experienced detectives have worked at Pace to piece together last night’s event,” said James Morris, Det Ch Insp.
Rhondda Cynon TAF (RCT) County Borough Councilman Sarah Jane Davies called online and asked residents to “stay alert” and thank them for their cooperation.
