On Wednesday, a conflict broke out between two groups of students at the University of South Asia (SAU) at Delhi.
The Federation of Students in India (SFI) and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) accused each other of inciting violence in the university.
However, the Bible government has not issued a statement, but Delhi police said no formal complaint has been received. The university is conducting an internal investigation.
A senior police officer said a PCR call about the SAU quarrel was received at the Maidangarhi Police Station at about 3:45 p.m. Upon arrival, the officer found the chaos and had a dispute.
“The female student who was beaten in South Asia University is popular on social media. The video started on Wednesday, and two groups of students in the cafeteria had a dispute over food-related issues and then a fight broke out. The victim’s students notified the police by calling the police. Currently, the victim is undergoing medical examinations and the facts are being verified,” Delhi police said.
The Indian Student Union accused ABVP of attacking college students for failing to comply with their requirement to stop serving non-vegetarian food on Maha Shivratri.
“The ABVP evilly attacked students at South Asian universities in the university because they did not comply with the strict and undemocratic requirements of the ABVP, i.e., due to Maha Shivratri. Because of Maha Shivratri. SFI said in an official statement.
However, the ABVP opposed these claims, accusing SFI members of forcibly trying to serve non-vegetarian food amid the chaos designated for fasting students.
“The large number of students are in the auspicious time of Maha Shivratri in Maha Shivratri of South Asia. Respecting religious beliefs and traditions, these students earlier asked for the messy management to arrange food for them on this special day. Accepting this request from the students, the university administration said in its official statement by Satvik ABVP.
The claimed conflict video has surfaced online. SFI Delhi also posted a video on its X controller claiming that ABVP members attacked the female student in the chaos of SAU.
