Officials recently said the district government will initiate several steps to ensure road safety and popularity.
These measures include the power to fix the instrument to all automatic cities in Bellagarve, identifying accident-prone black spots on various roads, and exploring civil engineering solutions to reduce accidents and warning riders of strict action on these areas and against traffic violators.
At a meeting of senior officials and members of the Regional Road Safety Committee, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan asked officials to start driving to see that all cars have electricity meters and that they did not over-charge commuters.
He asked them to prepare fare charts based on time and lower limits to charge on various routes. He said the charts should be widely publicized to avoid malfeasance.
The deputy commissioner asked officials to repair CCTV cameras that were not functioning properly.
He noted that some roads suffered from huge traffic and asked officials to explore solutions. He suggested establishing designated parking areas, one-way modification and two-way routes, and regulating vehicle movements, including speeding and traffic violations.
He asked officials to see that the CBD area does not have sust-free powers, such as the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Zilla Panchayat and the District Court, the Central Bus Stand and Rani Channamma Circle.
Ask officers to identify areas that are prone to accidents and explore civil engineering solutions to reduce accidents. Signs will place such areas to alert commuters.
Police Chief Iada Martin Marbaniang said strict action will be taken against traffic rules.
He said high-risk paths and circles will be identified and violations will not be tolerated there. He said road safety will be the main reason for implementing or changing one-way rules of roads.
