At least six people have been described as “Jihad Schools” in suicide attacks at an Islamic seminary in northern Pakistan.
The explosion occurred in the mosque in Darul Uloom Haqqania in the Khyber Pakhtukhwa province, about 55 kilometers (34 miles) from the northern city of Peshawar.
The famous pastor Maulana Hamid ul-Haq is an outstanding priest and an influential head of the school. Police said 10 other people were injured.
The seminary has long been associated with the Taliban because several members of the organization, including Mullah Omar, the founder of the organization.
No one claimed responsibility for the attack, which began at the beginning of Ramadan.
According to local police, the explosion occurred after Friday’s prayer.
Hack’s son Khuzaima Sami told the BBC that hundreds of people appeared in the hall during the explosion and he was worried about a lot of casualties.
The attack has been investigated.
Local Police Chief Abdul Rasheed told AFP News that “the initial reports showed that the explosion occurred after Friday’s prayer when people gathered to greet Hamid ul-Haq.”
The Seminary (Professor Pastor) is also known as Madrassa, and is considered one of the most famous religious education institutions in the region and is an important academic center of the Deoband Institute of Thought.
It is known as the “Jihad School” thanks to its famous alumni, including Jalaluddin Haqqani, the founder of the radical Haqqani network, and his son Sirajuddin Haqqani.
The two played a key role in leading the Taliban rebellion, first against Soviet forces and later against us and NATO forces in Afghanistan.
Haq, 57, is the son of influential Pakistani pastor Maulana Sami ul-Haq, and is widely known as the “father of the Taliban”.
After his father’s father, he became vice president of the seminary Assassination in 2018 and faction heads of religious jamiat ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F).
From 2002 to 2007, he also served as a member of the Pakistan National Assembly.
Hakk’s father has long-standing ties to the leaders of the Afghan Taliban, including Mullah Omar.
He is considered an influential figure in promoting negotiations between the Taliban and the Pakistani government.
Despite close ties to Afghanistan and Pakistan’s Taliban, neither Hak nor his father were directly involved in any anti-state movement.
Instead, they are often seen as intermediaries between Pakistan and the Taliban.
Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif condemned the attack, as did the Pakistani Taliban.
The organization describes Hack as “a missionary of truth, a compassionate teacher, and a fearless advocate of Madrasas’ stability.”
