Secretary of Gram Panchayat in a village in Agra district of Uttar Pradesh allegedly forced students from a public primary school to squat down and stand with their hands upward for an hour on Tuesday morning to punish them for not wearing uniforms Punish them.

Khairagarh Block Development official Sushmita Yadav said Secretary Panchayat has no authority to inspect the responsibilities of the basic education department.

“We are aware of this incident and seek reports on the issue from the authorities concerned. We will certainly be disciplined against the Secretary after we get the report.
