An investigation into the death of former deputy district magistrate judge K. Naveen Babu has confirmed allegations from the deceased family and the charges that former Kannur district Panchayat president and CPI (M) leader PP Divya is responsible for suicide.
Mr Satheesan said the report confirmed Ms. Divya’s allegations of conspiring to defame the official, which led to his suicide death. Although CPI(M) Secretary of State MV Govindan assured the deceased officials that the party was with them, and Mr Govindan’s wife was there to receive Ms Divya after she released the prison. He added that the party should clarify the message conveyed through these actions.
Mr Satheesan called for an investigation into CPI(M)’s inappropriate intervention in the case. He claimed that the party and police were trying to protect the defendant.
He asked the investigation report to be taken as part of the police investigation.
