They announced on Monday that industry associations of three real currency games (RMG) spaces provide ethics for their members. Associations – All India Game Federation (AIGF), Electronic Game Federation (EGF) and Indian Fantasy Sports Federation (FIFS) – represent members such as Dream11 and Pokerbaazi, who run the game of the game, and users can risk taking money to get rewards. For companies with over 100 million users, the code starts in six months, while the others start in nine months.
Hindu A copy of the code was reviewed, designed to prevent minors from playing games, “protect vulnerable players” and ensure that the game and its ads run responsibly. The move is because the league government’s regulations on RMG players have not been made substantial and have acted independently in attempting to control the industry.
A self-regulating body
While the industry continues to conquer the 28% GST of the company in 2023, regulatory clarity that should emerge from the amendment rules for information technology (mediation guidelines and digital media ethics regulations) has not yet been achieved in 2023. The 2023 rule requires RMG to obey the self-regulation agency (SRB), similar to the OTT streaming service system. However, the government has not formally recognized any SRB proposed by RMG.
Additionally, the industry is banning in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and resisting regulations such as the Tamil Nadu Online Games Authority (TNOGA), which imposes strict usage restrictions on RMG, such as preventing players from online from midnight to 5am to 5am, and authorization of Aadhaar Verification and certifying other IDDIDs as well.
The regulations state that RMG companies should conduct annual reviews on whether they comply with the law. Other regulations include mandatory knowledge customer verification, transparent terminology, a self-restrictive feature in which users can lock themselves in the game for a period of time, and a grievance remediation system. Many of these commitments reverberate in building practices in the industry.
