Popular actress Rashmika Mandanna has been at the center of political controversy in Karnataka after the absence of the Bangalore International Film Festival (BIFF), which has attracted opposition from Congress leaders. The situation escalated when Congressional MLA Ravi Kumar Gariga criticized Mandanna for allegedly refusing to attend the festival, which led to the Kodava community showing actresses their support because she belongs to the community.

Kodawa National Assembly President Nu Nachappa urged the Karnataka government to provide security for Rashmika Mandanna on the grounds of her threat to politicians. He condemned the statements of Congress leaders and asserted that they were unfairly targeting her. Nachappa stressed that Coorg’s proud Kodava Mandanna has brought national recognition to the community and should not be subject to political intimidation.
“I urge the Karnataka government to represent the community to provide security for Rashmika because there may be targets for protests when she visits her home. He expressed concern that DK Shivakumar is angry at celebrities in Karnataka and may “try to teach her a lesson”. In response, the Kodava National Council assembled as an actress and asked the government to ensure her safety. They believed that the attack on her symbolized marginalization of the Kodawas and vowed to oppose any political hatred. As the controversy develops, the focus remains on Rashmika Mandanna, who has not made a public statement on the issue.
