A few days after the arrested actor Ranya Rao at the Bangalore airport linked to the Gold smuggling, the BJP claimed the actor had contacted ministers of the Congressional government led by Siddaramaiah to get him out of his stumbling. The head of the state BJP in Vijayendra said the so-called “blatant violation” of the agreement was reportedly possible, Ranya Rao could smuggle gold “without the direct support of influential figures within the government.”
State BJP President Vijayendra shared an article on X, mentioning media reports that hints at a prominent minister involved in this issue, adding that the reports are no surprise, given the government’s record of stopping scandals in an increasing number of “innovative ways”.
“Blatant violations of government agreements have allowed Ranya Rao to smuggle gold worth more than Rs 12 crore (which may have been more in the past) without direct support from influential figures within the government. If these reports are true.
“As Chief Minister, @siddaramaiah would have received intelligence reports to point to suspicious ministers and their involvement. Any attempt by the government to protect those responsible would only backfire, especially as the CBI stepped in now. The truth will emerge and any cover-up will only further expose the government’s accomplices in this serious offensive,” added Mr Vijayendra. ”
Meanwhile, BJP leader Bharath Shetty told Ani: “The smuggling case is a clear crime. During the crime, she tried to contact various parliamentary ministers.
Ranya Rao was arrested on March 3 at the Tax Intelligence Agency (DRI) Bureau of Kempegowda International Airport (KIAD) in Bangalore for allegedly smuggling 14.8 kilograms of gold into India from Dubai.
