Pune:
A 26-year-old woman was raped inside a bus early Tuesday morning – when it was parked in the middle of Pune’s busy Swargate bus station, about 100 meters from the police station.
The defendant was called dattatraya ramdas – he was determined via CCTV feed – but has not been arrested yet. Police formed eight special teams and deployed a canine olfactory unit to track him. Ramdas, 36, already has a criminal record.
Police also said the young woman – a domestic worker – a domestic worker who went to her hometown of Phaltan in the Satara region – was raped.
According to police, the crime occurred sometime between 5.45 and 6.30 a.m.
Preliminary scans of CCTV footage showed the alleged rapist talking to the woman who said Ramdas called her “Didi” or “sister”. According to the woman, he asked her about the destination and told her the parked vehicle – without lights – that would take her there.
The woman said the man took her to the bus and when she hesitated to point out that the light was not on, he told her that the other passengers were sleeping, which is why it was dark.
She said when she entered the bus, he jumped in, locked the door and raped her.
After that, she boarded the second bus – her friend was traveling – and said she was raped. A friend immediately told the woman to report the matter to the police.
Police said they also immediately filed a complaint and visited CCTV video, which began an investigation, which included asking the bus warehouse management how and why the matter was allowed to go on their homes and on buses.
The bus stop is one of the largest bus stops in the Maharashtra Road Transport Company.
Predictably, the rape sparked a sharp reaction from the opposition, who accused Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis of also controlling the Interior Ministry because he could not control criminal operations in the Pune area.
Maharashtra Congress chief Harshwardhan Sapkal claimed that rape incidents in the state were increasing and mentioned in 2012 the horrible incident of Neilbaya in Delhi. Safety.

“When Nirbhaya Gangrape happened in Delhi…the people changed the regime (voting to Congress and granting power to the AAP). The basic problem for people,” he said.
NCP’s Supriya Sule’s party faction is aligned with Congress, and he criticized rape in areas where police should be regularly patrolled. “..Shows that antisocial factors have no fear of the law. The Home Office failed to curb crime in Pune.”
Shiv Sena (a faction led by former Attorney General Uddhav Thackeray, aligned with Congress and Ms. Sulai’s NCP) held a protest at the bus booth.
