The Prince and Princess of Wales recently discovered baked goods at a cake shop in South Wales. Prince William and Kate Middleton participated in the Welsh cake making challenge during a visit to Pontypridd on February 26. Princes and princesses of Wales reportedly visited the town to see how they responded after the devastating floods that occurred in late 2024. As the royal couple reportedly dropped the dough and asked the owner Theresa Conner, “Is it thick enough?” He added, “Well, I don’t know, my amazing baker tips, Mary Berry taught me everything I need to know.” It’s a reference to the couple’s appearance at the Berry Royal Christmas show.

Prince William and Kate carefully prepared the cake on hot plates and flipped it over at five minutes intervals, according to the BBC. Madison Conner, the daughter of the store owner, praised their work and said: “They are perfect, they are great – they are Bonning.” Later, the royal couple met with locals who were affected by the flooding caused by the independence flood and the flooding effects of Storm Darragh.
Videos and photos of Royal visits to the town of Wales, including their arrival at Cardiff Railway Station, swept the internet. Prince William and Kate also posted a glimpse on their Instagram handles. They shared a photo of the carousel, which included click baking work. The title reads: “Anyone wants a Welsh cake? It’s great to be back in Wales on St David’s Day this weekend! Thanks to the lovely people of Pontypridd for their warm welcome.” Check it out below:
