Prime Minister Modi Kuwait two-day tourOn Sunday, he received the Gulf state’s highest honor, the Mubarak Kabir Medal, his 20th national and international award.
The “Order of Mubarak Kabir” is a knighthood in Kuwait. It is awarded to heads of state and foreign sovereigns as well as members of the royal family as a symbol of friendship.
The award has previously been awarded to global leaders including Bill Clinton, Prince Charles and George Bush.
The Prime Minister was given a grand reception during his state visit to Kuwait. He received a guard of honor at Bayan Palace. The ceremony was attended by the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported the details of the visit on the 10th. Prime Minister @narendramodi arrives at Bayan Palace in Kuwait to receive a ceremonial welcome and guard of honor. He was warmly received by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister of Kuwait. Extensive talks with the Emir, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Kuwait are coming soon,” the post read.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two-day visit to the Gulf country at the invitation of Sheikh Meshaal Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah is the first official visit by an Indian prime minister to Kuwait in 43 years.
Kuwait’s Indian community showed enthusiasm ahead of Prime Minister Modi’s speech at the ‘Hala Modi’ event at the Sheikh Saad Abdullah Indoor Sports Centre.
On Saturday, he visited the Gulf Spic employee camp in Kuwait. During his visit, he spoke to Indian workers and recognized their contribution to Kuwait’s development.
