In a tragic incident, Manav Sharma, an employee of Tata Consulting Services (TCS), died on February 24 at his home in Agra. Earlier, another technician, Atul Subhash, died of suicide, accusing his wife and in-laws of being tortured. Multiple media reports said that in this case, Manav Sharma reportedly died of suicide, allegedly due to a year of harassment by his wife. His family tried to file a complaint with the Sadar Police Department but claimed that the officials refused to register, citing Maha Shivratri’s duties. The family later escalated the complaints against the Chief Minister’s Portal. In the video, he accused his wife of torture and urged authorities to talk about the man. “Please talk about men, they are very lonely.” The video has since spread on social media.
After the complaint, Sadar police registered a case based on WhatsApp’s complaint on Thursday night and investigated the matter.
Heartbreaking video message
Before taking the extreme steps, Sharma recorded an emotional seven-minute video and later found a piece on his phone. In the video, he clearly feels pained, begging people to “think and talk about men.” He accused his wife of suffering and apologized to his parents.
“The law needs to protect men or there will be a time when no one will stay.
He then revealed that he found his wife had a relationship with others but chose to remain silent. He continued to object to tears, and he continued, “I want to go home. But, even now, I’ll ask you – please consider men. Someone, please talk about men.”
In his last words, he apologized to his parents and said, “Dad, I’m sorry. Mom, I’m sorry… But when I leave, everything will be fine. Once I die, things will get better.”
Sharma also revealed that he had tried suicide several times before and showed scars on his wrist as evidence. Before finishing the video, he urged, “Don’t blame my parents.” His last words were, “Okay, peace.”
Wife responds to the charge
After Sharma’s death, his wife, Nikita Sharma, shared a version of her incident, claiming that she was unfair. She claimed that after learning about her past, Manav turned to alcohol, became aggressive and often engaged in violent arguments. Multiple media reports said she said she had notified his family of his actions, but they refuted her concerns and suggested she manage the situation herself.
Nikita also claimed that she saved Manav and committed suicide on three different occasions. “I pulled him back from the edge and took him home. But in the end, he was the one who left me at his parents’ house.”
She further claimed that she called his family the day she died and tried to check him, but her phone was ignored. After his final ceremony, she claimed she was thrown out of the house and his family blamed her for her death.
Police are continuing their investigations to determine what led to the tragic demise of Sharma.
