OpenAI has purchased the domain name for chat.com, so the URL now redirects to ChatGPT. CEO Sam Altman posted the link on X yesterday.
The domain was previously owned by HubSpot co-founder and CTO Dharmesh Shah, who purchased it last year for $15.5 million. However, he said he sold it a few months later but could not disclose details of the transaction. He also confirmed that he ended up selling it for more than he paid.

OpenAI has not disclosed the exact amount of its purchase. It’s unclear whether the artificial intelligence company plans to change their brand.
