London-based technology company Nothing has announced the release of Nothing OS 3.0 (NOS 3.0), its latest operating system built on Android 15.

A major addition is the new Nothing Gallery app, which includes advanced search capabilities and expanded editing tools such as filters, tagging options, and suggestions. The app is designed to provide users with more control over photo management and editing features.

The update also brings sharing widgets, a feature that allows users to display sharing widgets on the newly designed customizable lock screen. However, this feature is currently limited to Nothing devices and only supports square photo gadgets. The company said it is developing more widget support.

Productivity enhancements in NOS 3.0 include the introduction of the Countdown widget, which will be available on Google Play later this month through the Nothing Widgets app. In addition, the new AI-powered Smart Drawer automatically sorts apps into folders to provide users with a more organized interface.

Other improvements include updates to Quick Settings, enhanced pop-up views, and typography changes. Visual and performance tweaks have also been made to improve overall functionality.

The rollout plan for NOS 3.0 starts with Nothing Phone (2) and Phone (2a), and the update is expected to be completed by the end of 2024. renew.

While the update introduces several new features, limitations such as restricted widget sharing and a staggered rollout schedule may impact some users. Further developments and improvements are expected as the company continues to update its operating systems.
