Who is Narayana Murthy?
Narayana Murthy’s full name is Nagavara Ramarao Narayana Murthy, also known as NRN Murthy, and was born on August 20, 1946 in Mysore, Karnataka. Born in a middle-class family, Narayana Murthy received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Mysore and later completed his master at IIT Kanpur.
After completing his studies, Narayana Murthy worked as a research assistant at IIM Ahmedabad and later became the chief system programmer. He worked in India for the first time sharing computer systems and designed a basic interpreter for ECIL. Despite his success, he strongly hopes to become an entrepreneur.

Narayana Murthy joined Patni Computer Systems as general manager, which allowed him to marry Sudha Murthy in 1978. However, Sudha soon realized that her husband was trapped in the business world. To support his entrepreneurial dream, she gave him Rs 10,000 and a 3-year schedule and promised that he would take care of his family.
In January 1981, Narayana Murthy gathered six software engineer friends in his apartment to discuss a company. This led to the establishment of Infosys Consultants Pvt. Ltd. July 2, 1981, by Murthy and six others: Nandan Nilekani, NS Raghavan, S. Gopalakrishnan, SD Shibulal, K. Dinesh and Ashok Arora.
