The Andre District Court in Mumbai has dismissed the lawsuit against actress Tanushree Dutta against actor Nana Patekar. The case was filed at the Oshiwara Police Station on October 10, 2018 and is related to alleged sexual harassment incidents starting from March 23, 2008.

The court ruled that the case was timed under the Restriction Act. Police earlier submitted a “B summary report” citing a lack of evidence.
Tanushree did not seek forgiveness to delay filing and the court found no sufficient reason to proceed. It was reported that more than 100 people attended the scene in the alleged incident, but there was no strong evidence to support her claim.
“My clients failed to understand the reasons for these false allegations. A huge fan has been built through hard work and dedication who believe the allegations are simply to destroy reputations with ulterior motives,” said advocate Padma Shelatkar.
She added: “But some people abuse the law to target respected names in the industry, which is unfair and immoral, affecting the careers of veterans. Over the past seven years, my clients have experienced enormous difficulties and faced the tremendous pressure and trauma that I have witnessed firsthand.”
“Today, Hon’ble Andheri District Court dismissed the complainant’s case. This case reminds people of unfairly targeting under the guise of #MeToo movement with ulterior motives. We have confidence in law and order, the judiciary, and we are happy with the outcome of the case today,” she concluded.
