Dhoni, who was retained by CSK this season as an unlimited player, has worked hard at Ranchi to improve his game fitness.
Legendary MS Dhoni hit six with his incredible ability with heavy bats, and he is reportedly considering turning to lighter bats with Chennai Super Kings for the IPL 2025 season. Sources show that four cricket equipment companies from Meerut have provided bats to respected Indian cricketers, which may be 10-20 grams lighter than his usual cricket. This potential device adjustment could seriously affect Dhoni’s performance on the scene when seeking new bats for the sport’s success.
The New Indian Express quoted a source saying: “Each bat weighs the same weight as before.”
According to the report, during his career, Doni usually used bats weighing 1250 to 1300 grams. A former teammate shared that the captain, who won the two-time World Cup, prefers heavier bats than most of his contemporaries.
Recent updates suggest that BCCI has approved training using CSK’s home stadium Ma Chidambaram Stadium until March 9. However, Dhoni’s training plan for the upcoming IPL 2025 season is still not set. Nevertheless, the 43-year-old cricketer was found training in Ranch’s JSCA International Stadium complex.
“He (Dhoni) used to train in indoor facilities. Since there was no team camping at the venue at that time, he was training in bowling machines. He also participated in a friendly tennis match on the opening day of the game.
In addition to the Indian Premier League (IPL), Doni announced his retirement. He also resigned as captain of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rituraj Gaikwad took over the role. Unfortunately, CSK was not eligible for the playoffs last year and ranked fifth in the standings.
Dhoni was celebrated as one of the most successful captains in IPL history, leading his team to five championship victories.
The upcoming IPL 2025 season is scheduled to begin on March 22, with defending champion Kolkata Cavaliers competing with Eden’s Royal Challenger Bengaluru.
