Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the Christmas celebrations organized by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI) at the CBCI Center on Monday, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said.
A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office said Mr Modi will interact with key leaders of the Christian community, including cardinals, bishops and prominent lay leaders of the church. It is said that this is the first time that the Prime Minister has participated in such an event at the headquarters of the Catholic Church in India. The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI), established in 1944, is the body that works most closely with Catholics across India.
