Violence Public conflict broke out in Mhow in Madhya Pradesh Officials said at a rally celebrated India’s ICC championship trophy victory on Sunday night, resulting in at least 13 arrests.
Authorities have ensured strict action on those involved in the incident and the situation is now under control. Police are scanning CCTV footage and mobile video to identify those responsible for the violence.
According to police, a group of cricket fans organized Celebrating India’s victory rally against New Zealand In Mhow. But as they passed through the Jama Masjid area, a large group of people allegedly began to throw stones, causing chaos and forcing them to flee, giving up their motorcycles.
Subsequently, two stores, some abandoned motorcycles and cars caught fire, exacerbating tensions.
Some reports suggest that the violence stemmed from a dispute near the mosque, where rally participants had disputes with another group of groups on firecrackers. Differences escalate into physical disputes and stone attacks. However, police said a thorough investigation will be conducted to determine the exact cause of the conflict.
In one of the videos, a group of unidentified people wearing masks are seen waving sticks and throwing stones.
Meanwhile, Indore collector Ashish Singh pointed out that actions under the strict National Security Act (NSA) will be taken against certain defendants. “The peace has been restored and no one will be spared any participation in violence. Strict action will be taken,” he said.
Authorities also warned against spreading rumors or inflammatory information on social media, warning of legal consequences for people engaging in such behavior.
The conflict caused widespread panic in the town and police were eager to restore peace. Law enforcement agencies remain on high alert to prevent further disruption. Army personnel have also been deployed in affected areas to prevent further violence and control the situation.
