For luxury cars, advanced technology-assisted high-end features always play a key role in defining their uniqueness. With the advent of touch screens and digital displays, luxury automakers like Mercedes-Benz are trying to add more exclusivity by introducing large displays. The German luxury car maker has introduced a 56-inch mammoth triple display superscreen in its cars, such as the Mercedes-Benz Eqs. But now the company believes Hyperscreen loses its exclusivity and is no longer a luxury.
Gorden Wagener, chief design officer for Mercedes-Benz, said the screen is not a luxury. He believes that when hitting the dash, the impact is not even as novel as it is now, because every car has a large screen.

Wagener also said about ABC news that Mercedes-Benz needed to make luxurious Beyind screens, so because of the advantages of having a large screen, Mercedes ·Mercedes-Benz needs it. To this end, the company’s goal is to improve software on its cars. “So we have to create luxury goods outside of the screen. That’s why I talk about craftsmanship and elegance. It’s very stressed to make the vehicle better,” Wagner said, further adding: “From the software side, it’s not good. Because When you have a big screen, you want to have a lot of content about it. So we are working on more specific and interesting content.”
Touch screens may have become a new trend in the passenger car market, thus providing consumers with a range of individual touches, thus having a few issues with obsession with these screens, including how the display becomes a fingerprint magnet. The thick display bezels are not flattering, especially in luxury cars. Extra large screens usually kill physical switch devices by filling in access to most features in infotainment. This eliminates high-quality control of decorating the dashboard, which many car owners prefer to touch screens.
Mercedes-Benz has not abandoned super screen
Although large digital screens lose their exclusivity in the luxury car world, Mercedes-Benz has not abandoned the super screen. In 2026, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class will undergo a mid-term makeover and undergo major upgrades. It is expected to inherit the three-screen layout from the equation.
