Taruna Kamal’s father is a sanitation contractor for the city council, while her mother, Norma Devi, is a homemaker. Taruna was born on June 26, 1997 and completed her 12th grade education from Lathi Modern Public School.

After completing her veterinary training, Taruna started enrolling in coaching classes in Chandigarh to prepare for the UPSC examination.

Taruna told ETV Bharat that her background in medical studies initially posed a challenge during her UPSC preparations. However, with the unwavering support of her parents and family, she overcame these obstacles, focused on exam preparation, and ultimately achieved the success she is today.
