MEA involves the injured family of Indian student in the US visa

“Neelam Shinde’s father, Tanaji Shinde, has applied for an emergency visa to the United States and needs assistance,” Supriya Sule said.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MEA) has filed an emergency visa with the United States for an Indian student who is fighting for his life after a road accident in California,” the source said.

Neelam Shinde, from Satara, Maharashtra, was seriously injured in the accident on February 14 and has been in a coma since then.

Ms. Sind reportedly suffered serious injuries to her head, hands and chest.

Her family has sought an emergency visa to travel to the United States, beside her.

“The MEA has resolved this issue with the United States, which is studying the procedures for providing visas to applicants’ families,” the source said.

The case was filed on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 by the leader of the Nationalist Congress.

“Student Neelam Shinde had an accident in the United States and was hospitalized in a local hospital,” she said in an article on X.

Ms. Sulai said: “Her father is from Tanaji Shinde of Satara, Maharashtra, India and is desperate to visit his daughter due to emergency medical services. Tanaji Shinde has applied for an emergency visa to the United States and needs assistance.”
