“The governor asked us to give up our weapons. However, we put forward certain terms and conditions and assured him that if these conditions are met, the weapons will be surrendered.”
When asked about details of the conditions discussed, Robin declined to comment, saying Arambai Tenggol would disclose details at a later stage. He also declined to comment on the timeline of the surrender weapons.
He added: “The governor assured us that peace will be restored in a short time and that after the surrender process is completed, all national roads in Manipur will be reopened as before.”
The group also submitted memorandums to the governor outlining key requirements, including border fences, NRC implementation (1951 as the base year), deportation of illegal immigrants, strict action against armed militants who violated the Action Violation (SOO) treaty Poppy plantations, as well as withdrawal from illegal immigrants from ST status, among other requirements.
