Ayodhya:
A newly married man died of suicide in Ayodhya, allegedly strangled his wife to death hours after the wedding, police said on Sunday.
Pradeep, from Saadat Ganj area within the Ayodhiakant police station, got married on Saturday, police said.
After the marriage party returned to the groom’s house on Saturday afternoon, the post-wedding ceremony took place for a day.
Police said the bride and groom retired very late on Saturday night.
“After the couple did not respond to repeated knocks on Sunday morning, the family opened the door and found Shiva’s body in the bed, while Pradep was found hanging from a ceiling fan,” said senior police officer Raj Karan Nayyar.
The official said that since the room was found locked from the inside, it seemed that the bride had killed the bride before his life.
“The body has been sent for an autopsy and is being investigated,” he added.
