Mahindra Scorpio Carbon vs Tata Safari Dark: Comparison

Mahindra has just launched a new version of Scorpio called Carbon. Although the new version retains the design characteristics of a regular vehicle, it has all-black exterior and blackened parts such as alloy wheels and roof rails. Let’s briefly introduce the newly introduced carbon to the Tata Safari Dark version.

Front design

Both the carbon and dark versions have the same design components as the base model. The Safari Dark’s fascia is completely blackened, while the Scorpio’s grille is chrome-plated. The safari’s Stealth retains its chrome badge, while the Scorpio’s carbon remains in dark chrome.

Side design

Both the Safari Dark and Scorpio n Carbon have an entire black side profile, including door handles and roof rails. The Scorpio’s carbon receives 18-inch black alloy wheels, while the Safai Dark variant has 19-inch black alloy wheels.

Post-design

When considering the rear profile, the Safari Dark has more black components than Scorpio’s carbon. The dark version of Tata Safari has blackened skateboards and nameplates, while Scorpio’s carbon gets the skateboard in new black. Safari will receive a blacked-out badge, while Scorpio will receive a dark Chrome badge.

Interior Design

The Safari Dark and Scorpio n Carbon are not regular versions of the dual-tone interior, with all-black interiors. Both SUVs also feature black leather-wrapped seats. The carbon version retains the chrome function in the cabin, rather than the dark variant.

Functional and security

The Safari Dark has a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay, a JBL 10 speaker sound system, a wireless phone charger, automatic air conditioning with second and third row vents, ventilated front seats and cruise control.

The Scorpio’s carbon features an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay, Sony 12 speaker sound system, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, with vents in the second row, wireless phone charger and ventilated front seats.

In terms of safety, the Mahindra Scorpio n Carbon comes with 6 airbags at standard, while the Tata Safari Dark may have seven airbags installed. Common safety features include automatic IRVM reduction, tire pressure monitoring, ISOFIX child seat anchor and Hill start-up assistance. Safari Dark also gets Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADA) features such as forward collision warning and Lane keep Assiss.
