Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar introduced the state’s budget for 2025-26 in Parliament on Monday. This marked his 11th budget demonstration, making him the second-most frequent budget host in the state’s history. The budget includes some infrastructure developments, including Pargar Airport, metro connectivity, and more.
Infrastructure drives budget
Palghar arrives at the airport by 2030
In the 2025 budget, Ajit Pawar announced that the Vadhvan port in Palghar district of Maharashtra will be put into operation in 2030.
“The Wadwan Port in Pargarh will be operational by 2030,” the minister said, adding that the third airport in Mumbai is the third airport near the Wadwan Port, and the station of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train will also be near the port.
Work generated
He announced a new industrial policy in Maharashtra, which will focus on investment of Rs 4 million and employment opportunities of 5 million.
By 2047, the metropolitan area of Mumbai is developing as a growth hub and will have an economy of $1.5 trillion, Pawar said.
New health policies
In his budget speech, Pawar also said that Maharashtra will develop new policies for health and elderly people.
Shirdi Airport
He also announced a night landing facility at Serdi Airport soon.
Navi Mumbai International Airport
He also mentioned that domestic flights will start operating from the New Mumbai International Airport next month, with 85% of the work being completed and successfully piloted.
Subway connectivity
State Finance Minister Ajit Pawar said the Metro Services Department will connect Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai with Navi Mumbai International Airport.
