PIL noted that the committee’s investigation only includes how the incidents occur and how such incidents will be prevented in the future.
The state government informed the High Court that the existing reference clause (inquiry) had been extended to investigate the loss of life and property due to the stampede and asked about coordination between Mera and the district government and the health department during the stampede.
“In view of the expansion of the scope of the inquiry, the notice dated 22.02.2025, the request made has been taken care of…” said Besch on the bench.
