In a post on his social media account “X”, the Prime Minister expressed his “heartiest” desire to “become friends” with Donald Trump. The Prime Minister wrote: “Heartfelt congratulations to my friend @realDonaldTrump on his historic election victory. As you build on the success of the last term, I look forward to resuming our cooperation to further strengthen the Indo-U.S. comprehensive global strategy Partnership. Let us work together to improve the lives of our people and promote global peace, stability and prosperity.

World leaders including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky offered early congratulations to the new U.S. president.

Ukrainian President Zelensky wrote a long letter to the 47th President of the United States, saying: “Congratulations to @realDonaldTrump on his impressive election victory!
