Custom SUVs delivered to the royal family 15 years ago will be auctioned through iconic auctioneers and are expected to provide substantial funding for their royal contacts. It is reportedly likely to produce up to 50,000 pounds (about converting to nearly 5.5 million pounds). SUVs have been part of the royal family’s large car collection, which also include luxury models such as the Range Rover, Aston Martin, Jaguar and Bentley.
The Land Rover Defender 90 SUV was handed over to the royal family on November 15, 2010. The SUV was sent to the Royal Garage at Highgrove House, which can be confirmed from a letter to Tim Williams, Chief Driver of Wauffeur and the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall, Prince of Wales . The vehicle is transported by the Special Vehicle Department of Jaguar Land Rover. It comes with a Land Rover Auto User Guide, a Land Rover Assing membership card and a car term insurance certificate. It also has a service book that contains details of the first service done by MJ Ligs, Land Rover, Wooton-under-Edge, who is a Land Rover expert at Highgrove.

Images shared by the auction house show that the SUV is almost wear-out, suggesting that it has been well maintained by the royal family over the past 15 years. It’s not as fancy or functional as some modern versions of the SUV. But even in 2010, the SUV still comes with heated front seats and heated front and rear screens.

The SUV is powered by a 2.4-liter turbocharged diesel engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The engine is able to generate 121 bhp of power and 360 nm of peak torque. It comes with Land Rover’s all-wheel drive technology. The top speed of the SUV is about 132 kmph, and it can sprint 0-100 kmph in about 16 seconds. Despite the ownership of 15 years old, the Riyal family drove only 39,582 kilometers.

According to the iconic auctioneer, Land Rover Defender 90 is regularly maintained. The auction will be held on March 22 at the NEC in Birmingham. The auction house sets the SUV price at £43,000 (roughly converted to ₹47.2 million) and £50,000 (almost ₹5.5 million).
