Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission (KKEM) will provide high-end skills to 10,000 people under its diversity inclusion programme.
The Thozhil Theeram project is being implemented in 46 constituencies with coastal areas. The Ministry of Fisheries provides funding and support for the program from its on-site staff. The committee led by the relevant MLA monitors local activities planned under the project.
During the first phase of the project, awareness and soft skills training and skill gap assessment were conducted in all regions. To improve registration for the project, micro registration camps were held at the ward level with the support of local agencies.
Initial phase
Although the goal is 100,000 registrations, only 26,000 registrations can be achieved in the initial stage. Therefore, a site investigation was conducted with the support of volunteers. To this end, a House visit was held and aware of the project to increase registration.
Next, more than 25,000 people who want to pursue skills courses to help them find employment were identified. Skills courses offered by tasks and skills courses offered by other institutions have been offered to candidates. Three batches of training for Thrissur have been completed.
The two-day interview preparation training, known as the “Career Catalyst Program”, has also been launched in all 46 constituencies. Of the 100 batches of each 30 candidates, 13 batches completed the training.
High-end skills
High-end skills will be provided to 10,000 people in order to prepare them for work. These courses range from CCTV technicians, photographers and beauticians to graphic design, programming and AI machine learning, blockchain analytics.
The amount of Rs 20 crore has been assigned to KKEM to be proficient in the budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year. The officials said the training will also be provided with funds from other skill partners such as its Other Skills Acquisition Program (ASAP) and Kerala Academy of Skill Excellence (KASE). The job fair will be held on April 20 in all nine districts under the Thozhil Theeram project.
