Washington:
Donald Trump accepted an invitation from King Charles to visit Britain on Thursday, making the U.S. president the first elected political leader in modern times, with two state visits by the British monarch.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer sent a letter to Trump at a press conference with White House reporters. Trump immediately accepted the invitation.
“It’s really special. It’s never happened. It’s unprecedented,” Steamer told Trump, handing him the letter.
“The answer is yes,” Trump replied, telling Steamer that he will participate with First Lady Melania Trump. “We look forward to being there and respecting the king and respecting the king.”
There is no announcement date for the visit.
The late Queen Elizabeth welcomed Trump during a state-owned visit in June 2019 during which he attended luxurious state banquets and private lunches with the monarch and had tea with Charles, who was then the heir.
The visit has already made Trump a member of the U.S. president because only Barack Obama and George W.
It turns out that this is also the last of more than 110 people to be held during her rule before her death in September 2022.
This visit is not the only occasion when Trump meets Elizabeth. He was also invited to have tea at Windsor Castle during a 2018 trip to the UK, when he was widely believed to have been widely broken for failing to bow to the Queen and then walking in front of her while inspecting the military and police.
His two visits to the UK also attracted large protests, with the 2018 trip costing police £14 million as 10,000 police officers deployed from across the UK.
