Kia Syros details: Kia India has launched the new compact SUV Syros. Bookings for the Syros will begin on January 3, 2024, and the price announcement is expected to be made at the Bharat Mobile Expo in January 2025. Once launched, it will compete with the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, Mahindra XUV 3XO and the upcoming Skoda Kylaq.
Kia Syros is built on the enhanced K1 platform and will be available in four standard trims and 2 optional trims HTK, HTK (O), HTK+, HTX and HTX+, HTX+(O). It’s available in eight monochrome colors: Frost Blue, Glacier White Pearl, Shimmer Silver, Gravity Grey, Intense Red, Imperial Blue, Pewter Olive and Aurora Black Pearl.
Syros has several industry-first features, including rear sliding, reclining and ventilated seats, Kia Connect diagnostics and OTA (over-the-air) software updates. It is equipped with a 12.3-inch high-definition touch infotainment system, a 12.3-inch high-definition display instrument panel, automatic climate control, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, an 8-speaker Harman Kardon premium sound system, a 360-degree camera blind view monitor, and more.
It also offers electric parking brake with automatic parking function, 64-color ambient lighting, multi-language VR commands, smart driving recorder with dual cameras, shift paddles (AT type), 4-way electric driver’s seat, Wireless phone charger, traction control modes (sand/mud and snow), drive mode selection (eco/normal/sport), adjustable rear head restraints and more.
The ADAS Level 2 system has 16 autonomous functions, including forward collision warning and avoidance assist, smart cruise control with stop-and-go function, and lane maintenance assist, enhancing its safety. It is equipped with 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, brake force assist system, electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, etc.
Under the bonnet, the Syros comes with two engine options: a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol (120PS/172Nm) and a 1.5-litre CRDi diesel (116PS/250Nm), with manual and automatic gearboxes.
