The Delhi capital will open the IPL movement of the IPL movement in Visaka Patnam on March 24.

Former England captain Kevin Pietersen has been appointed as a mentor to the Delhi capital ahead of the upcoming 2025 IPL. So the 44-year-old returned to his captain in 2014. This marks Pietersen’s first coaching assignment in the IPL, where he played his game in the 2009-2016 player.

“I’m so glad to be back in Delhi! I have the best memories of the time in Delhi. I love the city, I love fans, and I will do everything I can to find a title in 2025, Peterson is on X.”

Pietersen is a 200 T20 veteran with 5,695 runs, with 1,001 runs in 36 IPL matches against Delhi Capital, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Pune Preslanchise. At DC, he will join Hemang Badani, who was appointed director of head coach, assistant coach Matthew Mott, bowling coach Munaf Patel and cricket Venugopal Rao in October.

DC never won the IPL title, they reached the finals in 2020 and lost the Mumbai Indians. They finished sixth in the previous edition, and then they let go of Captain Rishabh Pant. They retained Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Tristan Stubbs and Abishek Porel.

At last year’s auction, DC came in with the biggest wallet and added KL Rahul, Harry Brook, Faf du Plessis and Mitchell Starc to their roster. They made major changes to their coaching staff ahead of the new season. They will serve former Indian player Badani as head coach in place of legendary Australian cricketer Ricky Ponting, while also taking over Australia’s James Hope with former Indian Pacers and 2011 World Cup champion Munaf as bowling coach.
