According to multiple media reports, Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said at the third Kautilya Economic Conference in Delhi that artificial intelligence, along with factors such as demographic structure and connectivity, will change the global order.
“Demographics, connectivity and artificial intelligence will change the global order,” the foreign minister told an economic conference.
Jaishankar also emphasized that artificial intelligence may become the most important factor in the global ecosystem, and said that artificial intelligence is dangerous to the world, similar to nuclear weapons.
“Artificial intelligence may become the most profound factor in the global ecosystem. According to media reports, Jaishankar said at an economic conference: “This is as dangerous to the world as nuclear weapons once were. “
Globalization: new weapons
According to the Economic Times, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also highlighted how globalization will be a weapon in the next decade and said the world should remain cautious.
Globalization has divided the world, and many blame it for unemployment and other negative effects of the revolution. Jaishankar said that this problem will persist as long as change (globalization) persists.
“The past decade has seen a growing social and political backlash against globalization. The reality of globalization inevitably collides with protectionism,” Jaishankar said in the report.
Jaishankar also commented on the functions of the United Nations global body at the economic conference.
The United Nations is like an old company
Addressing the Third Kautilya Confidential Economic Conference in Delhi, the External Affairs Minister emphasized that the United Nations is like an old company that cannot keep up with the market but occupies space in the market.
Jaishankar also drew a contrast between companies and countries and said that while the United Nations aims to mainstream market trends among key players, when they fail to do so, countries, like companies, start doing their own thing.
“To a certain extent, the United Nations is like an old company that has not fully kept up with the market, but has occupied the space. When the times fall behind, there are new startups and innovations in the world, and different people start to do their own things,” Jaishankar said.
“Now, they want to mainstream it into the market and see the major players align with these trends, but when they don’t adapt to these trends, I think countries, like companies, start to do their own thing,” the Ministry of External Affairs said Minister in secret meeting.
